Movie Short “Purl” is 5mins of Fun & Inspiration!

Reading Time: minutes

We LOVE this video short for many reasons. For starters, the fabulous Kristen Lester (director) is the daughter of one of our team members and we couldn't be more proud of her and her mom for being such extraordinary expressions of Goddess in the world today!

Purl, directed by Kristen Lester and produced by Gillian Libbert-Duncan, features an earnest ball of yarn named Purl who gets a job in a fast-paced, high energy, bro-tastic start-up. Yarny hijinks ensue as she tries to fit in, but how far is she willing to go to get the acceptance she yearns for, and in the end, is it worth it?

Kristen captures so well the experience of being a women in a male dominated workplace. It's not a one-size-fits-all experience.  We are all different and we all have different strategies for fitting in and making room for others.

We invite you to take 5 mins out to watch (and laugh).  Then look for yourself ...

  • How do you feel when you don't fit in?
  • What are your strategies for navigating those circumstances?
  • Who is impacted, and in what ways, by your strategies?
