We were so lucky to have Goddess Guide and relationship expert, Marilyn Sutherland, leading our Goddess Talk on Friday. Relationship malfunctions can be a hot topic this time of year.
The things we discussed included dating and how to attract healthy men, setting boundaries, etc, but the thing that seemed to be the most prevalent was dealing with money in a relationship.
Given the different ways we all relate to spending and think about money, particularly around the holidays, what could possibly go wrong?
Marilyn reinforced what we all know, but sometimes forget… for a lot of things, setting a spending limit ahead of time is the best plan.
Going a bit deeper though, Marilyn suggested we get to know what our views on money and spending are and what our partner’s are as well. She recommended reading up on it or taking one of the quizzes out there to find our Money Archetype. Getting to know this allows us to have an understanding and respect for different points of view regarding money and to find ways to compromise that serve everyone in the relationship.
