Inquiry: JOY!

Reading Time: minutes

We just launched our Goddess Living Community membership with our first monthly Inquiry gathering!

This month, we have decided to share the member benefits with our entire Goddess list. If you are anything like us, you are all missing our in-person occasions right now. However, for everyone's safety, we will not be hosting any of our Getaways until Summer of 2021. We are using this "downtime" to build the additional community structures we planned to support the relationships and intimacy that the Getaways create.

Please enjoy the recordings and inquiry outlined below as our gift.

Members receive a email each week with an activity, article, tip or trick designed to nurture the Goddess in you. To check out all to the member benefits CLICK HERE.  We know taking care of yourself may be a new practice or the LAST thing on your to-do-list ... that's why you have us!!

This week we are introducing the inquiry topic for the month.

What we mean by INQUIRY

This Community is not about getting or giving the answers, rather it is about asking questions. To question is to inquire. Inquiry (not answers) is a well known process of discovering something previously unknown to our conscious awareness.

Authentic inquiry invites us to be curious and to look with honesty at ourselves first and then outward. Inquiry requires persistence. Persistence in looking beyond the readily available answers.

The most impactful place to start any inquiry on a topic, is to identify how you experience that subject and yourself in relationship to that subject. In other words ... dig into your experience.

This is a new practice for almost every one of us. Mostly, we try to suppress, survive or manage what we are experiencing ... we don't have practice identifying WHAT we are experiencing and then questioning WHY we are experiencing it.

We picked a particularly experiential topic to start us off ... JOY.

Don't worry, to get good at inquiry just needs provocative topics and lots of practice. PLUS, it's impossible to fail. Really, the only way to fail would be to not inquire for yourself.

Inquiry into JOY!

Begin by looking at the following Questions.  In your experience ...

... What is JOY?

... Where is JOY?

... What are the barriers to JOY?

Once you have delved into these questions a bit (on your own or with friends) we invite you to take on this Engagement Assignment:

Expand your awareness of JOY in the living of your life. Identify the things (art, music etc) and happenings (situations, events etc.) that evoke JOY for you.

Share any insights to the Goddess Living Facebook Page.

Watch (or listen) to the recording of the Goddess Living Community having this very inquiry to get some insight about how to handle 'the barriers' that inevitably arise when one is looking for JOY.
