Welcome!
This month in the Goddess Community, we have been using the occasion of Black History month to explore not just the extraordinary accomplishments of the black and brown people in our history, but also the varied lived experiences of our black and brown sisters.
On last Friday’s Goddess Talk, Navajo Goddess Guide Ceceilia Tso generously shared with us a brief historical tour of Native American peoples. She also shared with us honestly and openly, the communal and historical trauma of the people, and how that directly impacts the outcomes we see in today’s Native Communities.
This is a topic I am particularly passionate about. I personally believe it is the restoration of, and listening to, the worldview of our native and indigenous peoples and their wisdom that we must learn if we wish to save not only our planet, but ourselves.
“We don't inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children” ~ Native American Proverb
While much of what Ceceilia shared was not comfortable (true honesty rarely is), it left us with not only a clear understanding of what the current circumstances are for the 2 million US Native Citizens (our fellow humans) but also some concrete ways we can make a difference.
These two things go together. We cannot make a difference in what we do not understand. AND we can never understand from our perspective. To understand at all, we first must listen deeply and let ourselves fully get the view of the people living in those circumstances. When we do this, we become a space for deep healing and growth for humankind.
The following are some of the things you can listen to, read and watch, to better understand the history and lived experience of our Native sisters.
Enoughness: Restoring Balance to the Economy
How we see the world determines how we act. Western thought sees us at war with each other over resources. Indigenous philosophy, we are all related as individuals in balance with nature. Watch* ENOUGHNESS: Restoring Balance to the Economy and learn more at www.FirstPeoples.org.

- I am in relationship with myself—decolonize our hearts.
- I am in relationship with others.
- I am manifesting and acknowledging the enoughness and assets of myself and others.
- I am entering into and sustaining accountable and responsible partnerships with people and communities.
