Ranch things to know...

Ranch Details

You’ll be staying in one of two beautifully appointed ranch houses. Room assignments are based on the pricing option you selected during registration, and all rooms are spacious and thoughtfully decorated with comfortable beds, cozy blankets, soft pillows, and charming details.

If you have any specific bedding needs or preferences, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected] — we’re happy to help.

The ranch is tucked away at the end of a 2.5-mile dirt and gravel road, nestled beside over 20,000 acres of wild, protected land. While you're safe and secure, we do share the area with local wildlife. Please be extra mindful when walking away from the ranch houses, especially at dawn or dusk.

A quick heads-up: this is a working ranch with nearly 200 head of cattle. During our orientation on the first evening, we’ll go over a few important safety protocols — like which gates to keep closed — to ensure everyone (including the cows!) stays safe and comfortable.

Be sure to review the packing list below — it includes a few essentials you won’t want to forget.

Safety

We take the safety and well-being of our guests seriously and do everything we can to create a secure, welcoming environment. Because the ranch is a working property with natural terrain, wildlife, and livestock, we kindly ask that all overnight guests sign a basic release of liability. This helps ensure everyone is aware of the surroundings and supports us in maintaining a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

You will be asked to sign the release when you arrive at the ranch and get settled.  If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to reach out to Anne at [email protected].

What to Pack & Expect

There will be walking AND pool time...

The property has numerous opportunities for walking and hiking so comfy closed toed walking shoes are in order!

The average high/low temperatures for June:  Highs 98 / Lows 70. We are designing all outdoors activities to be in the cooler mornings.  Pool and indoor time during the hotter parts of the days. Also, check your favorite Weather App for the actual Temps as we get closer.

Laundry machines available for use.

What to wear

  • Lots of layers, layers, layers!  As we move from hot outdoors to cool indoors layers are always good to have.
  • Clothing that is easy to move in and comfortable
  • Close toed shoes for walking and hiking.
  • Socks and slippers or slides - think stone floors and removing shoes for various sessions as well as hot pool decks.
  • Swim Suits! The ranch house has two beautiful pools we be enjoying so bring your swim suit!
  • Warm jammies if you tend to get cold at night AND... the rooms are heated and air conditioned.

What to bring

  • Toiletry items - Rooms come with towels, body soap, shampoo and conditioner. You should bring any other toiletry items that you need.
  • Hair Dryer and hair products if you use them. A good scrunchy is good enough for us!!
  • Flashlight - All paths are lit, but at night you may need additional lighting to ensure safety while walking.
  • Journal - A journal will be needed for a few of the sessions AND it is a wonderful tool to keep a record of your reflection and inspiration.
  • Bug Repellent - There may not be any in the cold, but...
  • Protection from Sun - Hats, sunscreen and sunglasses are recommended items to protect you from the strong UV rays that are typical year round.
  • Water Bottle - It's the desert! There will be plenty of filtered water available.

Internet and emergency contact

While both houses are equipped with reliable internet and decent cell service we encourage you to consider "unplugging" for as much as possible while you are on retreat.   You are welcome to share with any family Anne's cell number as a 3rd party emergency contact - Anne Peterson 206-605-5796

Schedule

While we have laid out a basic schedule of activities we will adjust based on weather, activity requests and comfort level of our guests.  First and foremost the Goddess Getaway is a occasion to RENEW - REFRESH - RESTORE!

We will design the daily itinerary the first night we gather.  In general we will focus this retreat on healthy eating, resting and LOTS of simple self-care practices you can take home with you.  All activities and inquires are always voluntary AND we leave lots of space for downtime and easy flow.  For a general outline see the WHEN section on the Getaway Landing Page.

If you have any questions, please email Susan or Anne ... [email protected]  OR call Anne on her cell 206-605-5796
